Will You Let Him?

Are you ready to meet the one who loves you enough to die for you?

He loves you so much. He wants to offer you a new life, a new hope, a new heart. He wants to rescue you. He wants reveal to you who He is, and who you really are. Who He created you to be. He wants a relationship with you.

He will never stop pursuing you.

He has a plan for your life that is so much better than you could ever dream.

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,' declares the Lord, 'and will bring you back from captivity.'" Jeremiah 29:11-14

What's holding you captive?

  • Your past?
  • Worry?
  • Anxiety?
  • Depression?
  • Addiction?
  • Habits?
  • Feeling like your not enough?
  • Sin?
  • That thing you just can't stop doing?

Whatever it is, Jesus wants to set you free! Will you let Him?

He knows about it. ALL of it. Whatever "it" is in your life. And He loves you anyway. He is offering you grace and forgiveness, and a new life that is not defined by your past.

Grace is for you

I remember feeling like that's great for other people, but if you knew what I had done, you would know that I am too far gone. He could never love me. He could never forgive me. Sure He probably had a plan for my life when I was born, but I ruined that. There is no way He could use me now.

LIES!! ALL LIES!!

Remember the enemy in the garden? He is the great deceiver. He wants you to believe those lies because he doesn't want you to find life, hope, forgiveness, and a future in Jesus. Satan wants to keep you captive to your past. Hear Jesus' words:

"'The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.'" John 10:10

Jesus loves you!! He loves YOU!! YES YOU!! He knows about all of the things you have ever done, will ever do, and have ever or will ever have done to you, and He loves you anyway. Remember, He knew before you were even born, and He created you anyway!

There is NOTHING, AND I MEAN NOTHING that you could ever do that would make Him stop loving you.

He wants to forgive you, and He wants to set you free.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17

All you have to do is say yes.

God created us to live in relationship with Him. Then sin entered the world, and that relationship was broken. God is a just God, and He cannot look on sin lightly. It must be punished. Sin is anything that we think, say or do that disobeys God. We are all sinners, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23

Thank you Jesus for putting the "but" in that sentence. God knew from before creation that we would sin, and break our relationship with Him. He also knew that sin would have to be punished. But He loves us so much, He had a plan from the beginning to save us.

Jesus would take on Himself all of our sins, and suffer and die the most agonizing death on the cross, and separation from His Father in Heaven. He took the punishment for our sins, so that we don't have to. Then on the 3rd day He rose again, so that we may have eternal life in Him.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." John 3:16-18

Will you believe? Will you accept Jesus' free gift to you? Will you let Him be the Lord of your life?

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justiified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scriputre says, 'Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.'" Romans 10:9-11

If you would like to do this today, pray a prayer similar to the following one. The words are not important. It is not a magic prayer, it's your heart crying out to God's heart, and you deciding to accept His free gift of salvation and give your life to Him.

Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner. I am sorry, I ask for your forgiveness, and I choose to turn from my ways right now in this moment, and turn to You. I believe that you died on the cross to take the punishment for my sins, and were raised again on the 3rd day to give me eternal life. I declare that you are the Lord of my life. Take it all Jesus. I want to live for You. Thank You for saving me. I love you Lord.
In Jesus Name, Amen.

If you just prayed to accept Jesus as your Savior, congratulations, and welcome to the family of God! You will never be the same! I would love to connect with you and talk with you about your decision, and your next steps in your walk with Jesus.

Thank you for reading. Love you all. Walk with Jesus today knowing that you are a new creation!

Who Is He?

In my previous post, I was telling you about a man who loves you enough to die for you.

His name is Jesus, and He loves you unconditionally, and so does His Father, God. That's why God sent Him.

There are a lot of misconceptions out there about who God is. A lot of things that Christians say and do don't always line up with who God is, or what the Bible says about Him. Even commonly known Bible stories in their pop culture versions, often leave us with a skewed view of who He is.

The closer I get to Him, and the more I read His Word, the Bible, the more I understand how much He loves me, and you, unconditionally, from the beginning.

Do you know that God knew who you were going to be, and all of the things you were going to do before He even created the World?

Jesus knew the plan before creation. He knew that Adam and Eve would sin. He knew that we all would. He knew that the only way to redeem us was to die a brutal torturous death on the cross for us.

And He did it anyway

He created us anyway

I don't know if you have read the Genesis account of creation and Adam and Eve, but I'm sure you have at least heard about it, or know the story. As Christians it's easy to gloss over reading it because we've read it before, and we know the story. Would you be willing to take a new look at it with me, believe He has something more to reveal?

As non-believers, it's easy to use the creation account as part of the reason for not believing. You were probably taught in school (as I was) that the Biblical account of creation is not true. Maybe we'll discuss that in another post but for now would you humor me, and suspend your disbelief, as we take a fresh look at the Beginning?

Maybe when you read or hear the story, you imagine God as angrily screaming at them, and banishing them from the garden for breaking His one and only rule. Maybe you wonder, why did He even put that tree there in the first place?

I know I did. God created Adam and Eve. He gave them one rule. They broke it. He got mad, cursed and banished them, and then He had to come up with a plan to fix it. Right?

Wrong

Upon closer examination, study, and deepening my relationship with Jesus, I have come to believe that is not how it happened at all.

What if we read Genesis 1-3 through the lens of Grace? What if we read it, viewing God as a loving Father, not an angry, distant being? One who wants to protect us, give us abundant life, and bring us back into a full, loving relationship with Him. One who wants the best for us, and more than that, can and will give us a life better than we can ever imagine.

That is what I would like to do for the next few posts. Because if we really want to understand who He is; if we really want to see that all of those things I said in my last post are true, we need to go back to the beginning, to where it all started.

For now, I'll leave you with this from Genesis 2:

"The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. And the Lord God commanded the man, 'You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.'" Genesis 2:15-17 (NIV, emphasis added)

You see, God doesn't say "if you eat of it." He says "when you eat of it." He knew. He knew that Adam and Eve were going to eat it. He knew they were going to introduce sin into the world. He knew they were going to break His heart.

He created them anyway

He knew all of the sins that I was ever going to commit.

He created me anyway

He knew all of the sins that you were ever going to commit.

He created you anyway

Why?

Because your worth to Him, and His love for you are not based on your performance. He loves you unconditionally.

No Matter What

Go back and read that again. Let it sink in. Your worth is not based on your performance. You are valuable simply because you are.

Would you come back next time and keep exploring the grace that's found in the garden, with me?

In the meantime, if you want to read Genesis 1-3 you can do so here. And pray that God will open our eyes to who He really is, and who we are in Him.

Thanks for reading. I love you all. Have a great day, and live in the truth that you are so vaulable.

P.S. I would really love to have a converation with you, and hear what you have to say. The comment feature here is not available yet, but I would love for you to join me at my Facebook Page.

What if He Loved You Enough to Die For You?

What if there was a man who knew everything about you? Everything you have ever done. Everything you have ever thought. Everything you have ever felt. Everything you ever will do, think, or feel. Everything that has ever been or will ever be done to you.

Pretty scary thought right?

But...what if knowing all of that:

  • He loved you anyway? Unconditionally.
  • He called you princess? And meant it.
  • He called you beautiful? And it was true.
  • He called you redeemed? And had the power to redeem you.
  • He called you daughter of the king? Because you are.
  • He called you forgiven? Really, truly, completely forgiven, for ALL of it.
  • He called you clean? And had the power to wash it all away.
  • He called you a new creation? Because with Him you are?

What if knowing all of that, even that thing you are thinking of right now:

  • He died for you?
  • Not only did he die for you, but he came back to life, to love you and have a relationship with you forever?

Would you like to meet this man?

He is real. Very real. I know Him. He has done all of these things for me. I am not the same. I will never be the same because of His love.

It is my heart, and my purpose, with this blog to introduce you to Him. He wants you to know Him. He is pursuing you right now. He will NEVER stop persuing you. You are enough for Him right now, the way you are exactly in this moment.

Do you want to know more about Him? Will you come back tomorrow, as I start to share with you who He is, what He has done for me, and what He wants to do for you?
